What Is Algorithmic Trading?

Algorithmic trading โ€” sometimes called "algo trading" or "quant trading" โ€” means using a computer program to make trading decisions automatically, based on a defined set of rules, rather than relying on human judgment in the moment.

Think of it like autopilot on an airplane. The pilot (FSC's team) sets the destination, the rules of flight, and the safety parameters. Then the computer executes โ€” precisely, tirelessly, and without emotion โ€” while the mission stays fixed: fund the Great Commission.

The algorithm doesn't get nervous when markets drop. It doesn't get greedy when markets rally. It simply follows its rules โ€” every 5 minutes, every trading day, without exception.

"We have not been given a spirit of fear, but of power, of love, and of a sound mind." โ€” The algorithm embodies exactly this: disciplined, fearless execution grounded in sound principles.

8:30 AM CT โ€” Morning Scan
The system wakes up and scans 29 ETFs across all major asset classes, ranking each by implied volatility. The top 10 become today's watchlist.
๐Ÿ”ฌ
Every 5 Minutes โ€” Market Analysis
The system scores each watchlist symbol across 6 technical indicators. Only symbols with strong, converging signals receive an entry approval.
๐Ÿ“‹
Entry Decision โ€” Rules Only
When a symbol passes all checks, the system calculates the optimal strike prices, contract size, and premium โ€” then places the trade automatically.
๐Ÿ‘๏ธ
Continuous Monitoring โ€” All Day
Open positions are monitored every cycle. If a position hits the profit target or stop loss, it is closed immediately โ€” no hesitation, no second-guessing.

Profit โ†’ Kingdom
Every dollar of net profit is directed to Christian ministries, church history education, and global gospel outreach. The machine works so the mission advances.

Human Trading vs. Algorithmic Trading

The greatest enemy of a trader is not the market โ€” it is the trader themselves. Fear, greed, hope, and hesitation have destroyed more trading accounts than any market crash. FSC eliminates this entirely by removing the human from the moment of decision.

Human Trader
Emotion-driven decisions
๐Ÿ˜ฐ Hesitates when market drops โ€” misses entries out of fear
๐Ÿ˜ค Holds losing positions too long, hoping they recover
๐ŸŽฏ Exits winners too early out of anxiety, too late out of greed
๐Ÿ˜ด Cannot monitor markets continuously โ€” fatigue sets in
๐Ÿ“ฐ Distracted by news, social media, and market "noise"
๐ŸŽฒ Inconsistent โ€” different decisions on different days
โณ Slow to react โ€” seconds or minutes between signal and action
VS
FSC Algorithm
Rules-based precision
โœ… Executes instantly โ€” no hesitation, no emotion, no second-guessing
โœ… Closes losers immediately โ€” the 2ร— stop loss fires automatically, always
โœ… Exits at the defined target โ€” profit rules are fixed and non-negotiable
โœ… Monitors 24/5 โ€” every 5 minutes, all day, every trading session
โœ… Filters out noise โ€” only responds to its own defined signal criteria
โœ… Perfectly consistent โ€” identical decision logic every single cycle
โœ… Reacts in milliseconds โ€” from signal to order in a single heartbeat

"The heart is deceitful above all things โ€” who can know it?" Scripture warns us of the unreliability of human emotion. FSC's algorithm is built precisely to transcend this limitation.

How Options Premium Capture Works

Options are financial contracts that give the buyer the right to buy or sell an asset at a specific price before a specific date. Crucially, options have a time value โ€” they decay every single day, becoming less valuable as their expiration date approaches. This daily decay is called theta.

FSC's strategy is to be the seller of options โ€” not the buyer. When you sell an options contract, you collect the premium upfront immediately. As time passes and the option decays, that premium becomes profit.

To protect against catastrophic loss, FSC pairs each sold option with a purchased option at a further-out strike price. This creates a credit spread โ€” a defined-risk structure where the maximum possible loss is fixed at the moment of entry. No surprise, no unlimited downside.

The goal is simple: sell premium, let time pass, collect profit โ€” then give it all to the Kingdom.

๐Ÿ“‹
Sell Spread
Collect premium upfront. Max loss is defined at entry.
โ†’
โณ
Time Passes
Theta decay erodes the option's value every day.
โ†’
๐Ÿ’ฐ
Collect Profit
Close position at target. Keep the premium as profit.
โ†’
โœ๏ธ
Kingdom Impact
100% of net profit directed to Christian ministries.
Bull Put Spread
Profits when the market stays flat or rises. Sell a put option, buy a lower-strike put as protection. Collect the difference as premium.
Bear Call Spread
Profits when the market stays flat or falls. Sell a call option, buy a higher-strike call as protection. Collect the difference as premium.
The Result
A direction-neutral income strategy that profits whether markets go up, down, or sideways โ€” as long as they stay within defined boundaries.

Why Quantitative Strategies Work

Quantitative trading means every decision is driven by measurable data and mathematical models โ€” not intuition, not gut feeling, not news headlines. FSC's system processes more market information in 5 minutes than a human trader could analyze in a full trading day.

01
Data-Driven Entry
Every trade entry is backed by a quantitative score across 6 indicators. No trade is placed on opinion โ€” only on measured, converging evidence.
02
Statistical Edge
Options sold at 0.10โ€“0.16 delta expire worthless roughly 84โ€“90% of the time by probability alone. FSC sells only in the statistically favorable zone.
03
Regime Awareness
The system detects market regimes โ€” trending, ranging, high-volatility, low-volatility โ€” and automatically selects the strategy most suited to current conditions.
04
Self-Improving
The Performance Feedback Loop tracks win/loss rates per combination and adjusts confidence thresholds automatically. The system gets smarter over time.

The Eight Disciplines of FSC's System

โš–๏ธ
Objective Entry Criteria
The system enters a trade only when a symbol scores above the minimum threshold across all six indicators. There is no "close enough" โ€” the bar is fixed.
๐Ÿ›‘
Non-Negotiable Stop Loss
The 2.0ร— stop loss fires automatically. There is no override, no "let it breathe," no exception. Losses are capped before they ever become catastrophic.
๐ŸŽฏ
Fixed Profit Targets
Profit targets are defined by the VIX regime at entry โ€” 35โ€“65% of premium received. The system closes positions at target, not "when it feels right."
๐Ÿ”„
Consistent Position Sizing
Maximum 2% of buying power per trade. Maximum 10 contracts. Maximum 3 open positions. These limits never change regardless of market conditions.
โšก
VIX Circuit Breaker
When market fear spikes above VIX 30, all new entries are automatically halted. The system protects capital during crisis without requiring a human to "decide to stop."
๐ŸŒ
Dynamic Symbol Selection
Each morning the DSR engine selects only the 10 highest-opportunity ETFs from a universe of 29. Capital is always deployed where premium potential is highest.
๐Ÿ“Š
Regime-Adjusted Strategy
The system doesn't use one strategy in all markets. It automatically switches between four modes based on VIX and IV Rank โ€” always matching strategy to conditions.
๐Ÿง
Continuous Learning
The Performance Feedback Loop adjusts thresholds based on what's actually working in live conditions โ€” a living system that improves itself every trading day.

Systematic Absolute Return Fund

Faithful Servants Capital operates as a Systematic Absolute Return Fund with Adaptive Hedging Overlays โ€” the same institutional category that firms like Winton Group and Man AHL built their early foundations upon.

Unlike traditional equity funds that measure performance against the S&P 500, FSC's system competes only against itself. The goal is consistent positive returns in all market conditions โ€” rising, falling, or sideways โ€” then deploying every dollar of profit toward Kingdom purposes.

"Winton Group and Man AHL began with systematic premium capture strategies before scaling into multi-billion dollar operations. FSC's architecture reflects the same disciplined, rules-based thinking."

What Makes FSC Different

FSC vs.
Traditional Retail Options Trading
The vast majority of retail options traders operate on intuition, manual analysis, and emotional decision-making. FSC operates a fully automated, rules-based system that executes with perfect discipline 24 hours a day, 5 days a week, with no emotional interference.
FSC vs.
Traditional Nonprofit Investment Funds
Most nonprofit endowment funds invest passively in diversified equity and bond portfolios, generating 5โ€“8% annually. FSC's options premium strategy is designed to generate returns in excess of passive strategies while maintaining a defined maximum risk profile on every trade.
FSC vs.
Small Hedge Funds
FSC's architecture reflects institutional-grade thinking in its adaptive regime detection, systematic entry criteria, and dynamic position management. As AUM grows, this infrastructure scales without requiring proportional increases in operational complexity.

"FSC's edge is not just technological. It is the combination of institutional-grade systematic trading with an unwavering Kingdom mandate โ€” a combination that no hedge fund in the world can replicate."
